I hope wherever you’re at and whatever you’re doing today finds you doing wonderfully! Our poor little blog has been neglected the last couple of months, but with very good reason…we’ve had a GREAT 2010 Graduation season this year! Our graduates have kept us busy creating some wonderfully unique invitations. There is not enough room here on the blog to post pics of them all, but if you’re on Facebook you can find a “brag book” album we’ll be creating (hopefully today) with all of our 2010 seniors. We know they’ve started graduating as of last night starting with Biggersville, Mississippi and our Kossuth seniors graduate tonight…with many more graduating at various times now through the end of the month.

We’d like to send a very special and heartfelt THANK YOU to all our seniors and their families who came into Emma’s Everything and let us participate in this very special time!! We’d also like to thank our local photographers who graciously allowed the seniors to use their photos for their invitations. We have some wonderfully talented photographers in this region. If you’re in need of a great photographer, please ask us…we have a WONDERFUL list of recommendations!!

We are so proud of you guys! NOTE TO 2011 SENIORS: Please help us help you and get your invitation orders in as soon as you can this next year! If you want your senior pictures used, please go ahead and contact your photographer and get their permission for its use. Or better yet, just request permission when you have them taken!! We’ll need it IN WRITING for your file. We look forward to working with you and hope you have a wonderful senior year!!

Looking for more room to grow, we’ve moved Emma’s Everything around the corner to 515 Franklin. We’re still working on getting signs up and information on the windows, but we’re OPEN! Our hours are still the same: Monday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. We’ve also invited a fun new store to share our beautiful space: Doodlebugs Toys & More! So, whether you’re looking to treat yourself, a friend, or a child we’ve got you covered!! Come on in and see us!

Our holiday open house downtown this year was AWESOME! We met and visited with so many new faces and were THRILLED at seeing our familiar customers. We also enjoyed meeting some of our fellow retail neighbors!! DON’T FORGET…the Christmas parade is December 5th downtown and starts at 5 p.m. followed by Caroling on the Square. Emma’s Everything will be open late that evening until 8 p.m. Hmmm…I’m thinking it might be time to bring out the cocoa and marshmallows!

Enjoy the pics…and please forgive me for the blurry night pics as I’m not used to taking pictures outside in the dark. But, you will still get an idea of just how beautiful this was to see firsthand and how humbling it was to look at all the luminaries and KNOW that each bag represented a life lost in the civil war battle here (specifically 12,000)…if you can picture someone laying there instead of each bag, it truly brings home the reality of the number 12,000. There are no words for that kind of loss. The wonderful volunteers who put their hearts and efforts into this project…THANK YOU. It’s an amazing tribute and a wonderful way to honor them. Mark your calendars for next year to attend Corinth’s Grand Illumination and Holiday Celebration…you won’t regret it!!
